In Real Life

A large apex predator of Late Cretaceous North America, the Tyrannosaurus rex was the largest known member of the tyrannosaurids. It hunted down a variety of large herbivores such as Edmontosaurus, Triceratops — all thanks to its crushing bite; estimated at 35,000 to 57,000 N (7,868 to 12,814 lbf) of force in the back teeth, which makes Tyrannosaurus rex have the most powerful bite of any terrestrial animal that has ever lived. The cranial structure has been estimated to withstand forces ranging from 183,000 to 235,000N, appropriately distributed along the length of the jaw.

As a Tyrannosaurus grew, it occupied different niches. Juvenile Tyrannosaurus were fast, preying on nimble animals such as ornithomimids and dromaeosaurs, before transitioning into the bulky, far less agile adult form. However, most Tyrannosaurs never lived to experience their first hunt, for their infant mortality rate was high.

Despite recent debate, Tyrannosaurus was likely not covered in dense feathering due to thermoregulation issues and the lack of evidence found on other Tyrannosaur genus (Yutyrannus is not a Tyrannosaur). Recent evidence also points that Tyrannosaurus was likely a slow animal; estimated by the anatomical dynamics and the animals overall weight, a study points out that Tyrannosaurus could run up to 30 KM/h; slower than a human, but still fast enough to catch herbivores such as Triceratops.

Tyrannosaurus is concluded to be a rather slow theropod, in fact recent estimations found out that a human could easily outwalk an adult tyrannosaurus; iit was not an agile, pursuit predator.

The first model used for Carnotaurus was purchased by Dondi from “The Stomping Lands”. Interestingly, when it was implemented into The Isle, its running animation did not change.

In The Isle

Its claw attacks can deal massive amounts of damage and it can run very quickly. It has relatively low health and can be killed by a Tyrannosaurus in three bites, so it is best to avoid them along with other apex predators (unless you are an experienced player).

When in combat, it is best when directly facing your opponent. The tail is the most vulnerable spot, so players should make sure that predators don’t get to it. The best way for it to avoid trouble is to be intimidating, threatening to attack and displaying aggressive behaviour if carnivores get close. Unfortunately, this doesn’t always work since some predators are not easily intimidated by the screeching, although due to the damage a Therizinosaurus can do, it might lower their chances of attacking.

Most animals will not want to come close to as Therizinosaurrus are extremely fast and do a lot of damage. The only dinosaurs that will try to hunt are mostly apexes. When fighting apexes it is advised to get behind them (without getting hit) and tail-ride them. Although if players do not want direct confrontation or engage in combat with an apex, the option to run away is suitably advised as Therizinosaurus can outrun all apexes. Before attempting to fight Apexes in survival mode, players best practice in sandbox mode.

It is currently playable in Sandbox mode, but can be nested in the Survival mode.

In Real Life

Dilophosaurus was a giant theropod for its time, the early Jurassic period; it measured around 7 meters (23 ft) long and may have weighed 400 kilograms (880 lbs). It seems to have been a fast, agile runner.

The most distinctive characteristic of Dilophosaurus is the pair of rounded crests on its skull, made up of extensions of the nasal and lacrimal bones. These are considered to be too delicate for anything but display purposes.

The diet of Dilophosaurus has been controversial; originally thought of as a predator of terrestrial animals, due to its relatively weak jaws it was then commonly believed to have been a piscivore or scavenger. It’s possible that Dilophosaurus was a generalist carnivore, preying on whatever it could.

Despite common depictions, Dilophosaurus is not known to be venomous, and it lacked a neck frill.

General Information

Pros:

• Best night vision.
• 3rd fastest carnivore in Survival.
• Short grow time.
• Low hunger.
• Takes a very short time to smell while moving.
• Drinks fast.
• Good default colour palette, perfect for day-time camouflage.
• Its high bleed damage means it can take on some larger animals, such as Tyrannosaurus.
• Very fast trot—it is nearly equivalent to that of Giganotosaurus.
• Very fast heal.
• Very weird hit box lets it easily dodge attacks on the tail.

Cons:

• Bleeding out opponents may take a while depending on your skill.
• Must avoid most major dinosaurs, especially during the day.
• Vulnerable to attack by an ambushing Allosaurus, Ceratosaurus, Utahraptor or Carnotaurus.
• Eats very slowly and loudly.
• Utahs can tail ride as a Dilophosaurus has a larger turn radius for both its z walk(slow) and trot(fast)
• Small bite hit-box and short active duration can make it difficult to land attacks.

Hunting as Dilophosaurus

Dilophosaurus is best played as a scavenger, and hunting should only consist of targeting juveniles or small dinosaurs. It has the best night vision in the game and is a fast survival carnivore. Its small size and short grow time make it one of the easiest carnivores to play as a solo.

Ambushing is the most effective method of hunting for the Dilophosaurus.

All hunting is easier at night, as its night vision is excellent and its broadcast call matches an ambiance sound that occasionally plays at night, meaning you can disguise your calls if you are in a pack and you are coordinating an ambush on prey. However, packs can potentially be risky, as more dinosaurs require larger prey, which may not be ideal for such a small dino.

Easy Prey:

The following prey can be easily killed while playing solo as a Juvenile Dilophosaurus to an adult Dilophosaurus. A single Juvenile can fill your hunger from 0 to 100, however it takes a while to consume.

• Velociraptor

Hard Prey:

Note: For packs or courageous adult Dilophosaurus.

The following prey can be killed with difficulty but they are unnecessary unless you have a pack. Because a single juvenile can provide enough food for a stomach full, killing larger prey is a risk.

Type-H: Hyperendocrin

All current «Hyper» dinosaurs.

Designed to kill with sheer brute force, Hyperendocrin dinosaurs are massive, fast, loud, and starving. Their insatiable hunger drives them to slaughter and consume entire herds of dinosaurs, while their super-regeneration and bulletproof skin makes any form of retaliation useless. The only known reliable way to kill a Hyperendocrin dinosaur is to starve it out.

The Endocrine:The endocrine system is an organ system that, among other functions, regulates metabolism, hence the name Hyperendocrin, or hyper-metabolism. It is for this reason that Hyperendocrin creatures must eat almost constantly in order to survive, and have the energy to run at high speeds for extremely prolonged periods of time. Bullet immunity or resistance may also be granted while in this form.

Cons:

• Mediocre sprint speed.
• Slightly below average bleed resistance.
• Easy to get brake-checked as an allo due to its slide.

In The Isle

Herrerasaurus is a small animal that can be easily killed by larger creatures, its favored prey are Dryosaurus and Psittacosaurus. Herrerasaurus size makes ambushing prey an easy task, due to its fast speed it can easily take down small herbivores. It can also scavenge from other carnivores although very risky as bigger dinosaurs can easily kill an Herrerasaurus.

The Herrerasaurus is the fastest dino in the game, its running speed is almost identical to the Utahraptor’s ambush speed. However as it is not implemented into Survival mode it is not known to rival any other survival dinosaurs speed.

It is currently only playable in Sandbox mode.

Именно поэтому «лаги» могут быть только в сетевых играх. Причины разные: плохой сетевой код, физическая удаленность от серверов, загруженность сети, неправильно настроенный роутер, низкая скорость интернет-соединения.

Впрочем, последнее бывает реже всего. В онлайн-играх общение клиента и сервера происходит путем обмена относительно короткими сообщениями, поэтому даже 10 Мб в секунду должно хватить за глаза.

Creatures

Vocalizations:

Creatures can Call out, to make sounds for different purpose, by pressing the following (default) keybinds:

Hunger and Thirst:

E: Press and hold E over a water lake or pond to drink.To eat press and hold E over a bush or a dead body / Carcass.Point the camera at it while doing so.Though the player may have to try this more than once over smaller dead bodies, because it may glitch sometimes.Once a body has been turned into a corpse, it depends on its which carnivore can eat it.

Note:- You can not drink from seawater at all.- When your stomach is full, you can not eat.

Status:- You can turn them to «static» under options.- There are hunger and thirst icons in the bottom right corner of the screen. They start off full but become emptier the hungrier, and thirstier the dinosaur becomes.

Attacking:

Left and sometimes right mouse click: To attack another dinosaur, left click on your mouse. Some dinosaurs also attack by pressing on right-click. For example:

Some have two attacks, a bite at head level and a bite at ground level. Eg. the bite at ground level lands a better hit on small prey such as the Gallimimus and Austroraptor.

The Puertasaurus rears up on its hind legs and smashes down on the ground like the Shantungosaurus. However, it also has a backward attack where it kicks out its hind leg and flicks its tail on the right click. Similarly, the Stegosauruscan swing its tail in two directions; to the left and right.

Old Tyrannosaurus (TSL)

It was the first Tyrannosaurus to be released before the default one and the Hyperendocrin. It is currently unavailable to the public but has been sighted by people as the devs showcase it. Unlike the current rex, this rex still has the old sound set for the rex in general. A rare and much weaker subspecies of the normal Tyrannosaurus, the TSL rex is much more lightly built. It has a downy coat of feathers, not as much as the average feathered Tyrannosaurus has, and a more differently shaped body and skull. Recommended prey are smaller herbivores, like Maiasaura and Avaceratops, as they are easier to kill then larger, more powerful herbivores. It is referred to as «Tarbosaurus», a large tyrannosaur that originated in Asia, by some realism servers in the game. It also has 1700 health.

What is the Isle?

The Isle is an open-world multiplayer dinosaur sandbox game that currently features 3 different modes.

The first game mode is Progression. This was an old game mode that has now been pushed back by two more famous game modes, which are Survival and Sandbox. This mode is essentially you playing as different dinosaurs and growing them to unlock new ones, which then you can grow those to unlock even more. Very little servers have this mode.

The second Game Mode is a mode called Survival. This is by far the newest, but also the most popular mode. It is still being worked on. Players are given different dinosaurs to play as, and unlike progression you get to access them all from the start. In survival players try to survive in the harsh environment that the Isle provides. You’ll have to find food and water, which gets easier as the game advances.

The third game mode is Sandbox. This game mode allows access any dinosaur in the game that they have at least finished the model and animations on.

The Isle also features a non-linear narrative told strictly through the environment. Hidden locations and ancient artifacts will be dynamically created on The Isle revealing the how and why of The Isle. Players will need to work together to uncover all of the secrets of The Isle. Discovering these locations and artifacts will unlock several key plot devices which will further the communal narrative forward.

Development of The Isle has been ongoing for over a year and we’re in the final stretch before having it at a state ready for public play. The Isle is still in an early (Alpha) stage of development but we are happy with the course it is on.

Movement and camera

Movement:

To move use the W, A, S, and D keys. To sprint, hold the Shift key while moving, to change the camera angle, and the direction of the dinosaur the mouse is used. You can also turn around while standing, first press and hold ALT and then the W, A, S, or D keys. Dinosaurs cannot sprint when they have a broken leg.

Jump:

Space: Some dinosaurs, such as the Gallimimus, Herrerasaurus, Utahraptor, and Austroraptor, can jump by pressing Space.

Crouch / Ambush ( sprint ) :

C: All Carnivores and some herbivores, such as the Gallimimus, Austroraptor, Carnotaurus, and Tyrannosaurus rex can crouch by pressing C.Carnivores can Ambush by waiting some seconds till a little dino run Symbol shows up, at the bottom right of the screen, over the dinosaur’s Thirst.

Walk slowly:

Z: While walking slowly dinosaur’s turning radius is very good.Most dinosaurs can switch between a trot and walk by pressing Z.The 2 dinosaurs Shantungosaurus and Maiasaura do swap between walking on two legs to four.

Scent:

Q: Scent is accessed by pressing and holding Q for some seconds. ( 2-5 sec if you go, 10 sec if you stand )- Lakes, ponds and rivers will light blue.- Footprints of your and other dinosaurs that they have left will light up in a yellow color allowing you to track them down.- The blood prints will be a red color if that creature is bleeding.Notes:- In the Nightvision ( N ) you always see all footprints.- If you spawn or sit around for some time, you must walk a bit, until you make a footprint. Then you can sniff.

Nightvision:

In Real Life

Allosaurus was one of two apex predators of the Morrison Formation, the other being Torvosaurus. It could run anywhere between 30 to 55 kilometers per hour and likely preyed on ornithopods, stegosaurs, and other allosaurs. It is likely that Allosaurus itself was prey, as well; bite marks from other theropods, likely either Ceratosaurus or Torvosaurus, have been found on an Allosaurus pubic foot.

Allosaurus lived in a semiarid habitat that was dominated by large forests and open floodplains; an environment that was harsh and low on food. One notable bonebed, the Cleveland-Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry, is one of the most profitable sites to find Allosaurus remains; around 67% of all remains at the quarry are of allosaurs of various ages.

Allosaurus’  jaws had the widest gap of any known theropod, being capable of opening them to an angle between 79 and 92 degrees. It also had considerable control over its neck and head and could move the head quite rapidly. This is consistent with a feeding method similar to modern falcons, which pull back and up to remove flesh from a carcass.

The brain of Allosaurus was similar to that of a modern crocodile, which has implications about Allosaurus biology; the skull was held nearly horizontally, and it likely had an easy time hearing low-frequency sounds, although more subtle sounds were difficult for Allosaurus to hear.

While the largest specimens are 9.7 meters (32 feet) in length, most Allosaurus specimens measure about 8.5 meters (28 feet) long. Some fragments suggest it may have reached 13 meters (43ft) in length. Allosaurus was around 1,500 kilograms (3,300 pounds) on average, although large specimens may have weighed up to 2,500 kilograms (5,500 pounds).

In The Isle

Giganotosaurus has high bleed damage, base damage, and weight, making it a hard-hitting ambush predator, however if the ambush fails it is still able to chase down some dinosaurs with sheer endurance. The usual hunting strategy is to ambush or chase down medium-sized animals or to steal from smaller predators.While you can fight other apex predators alone, a Tyrannosaurus can break your leg and finish you off with around 5-6 Bites. On the contrary, you need 8 Bites to kill a Rex. Compared to a Spinosaurus, the Giga is equal. In a 2 v 1 situation, Giganotosaurus can bleed out Tyrannosaurus relatively safely. Giganotosaurus has the 3rd highest bleed resistance in the game, making it a challenge for Acrocanthosaurus and Allosaurus to effectively hunt.
